Singapore Airlines Plunges After Posting Surprise Loss

Investors sold off shares in Singapore Airlines Ltd. after the airline carrier posted a surprise loss at its marquee brand for the first time in three years. The stock fell as much as 6 percent, the biggest intraday drop since August 2011. The carrier filled more seats at the expense of yields due to intense price competition in the region, analysts say.
