Can You Wear Camouflage to the Office?

The pattern designed for disguise is now meant to stand out.

As strange as this sounds, it seems we are approaching peak camouflage. I was starting this column trying to imagine how a fellow might achieve some distinction by folding this Jane Carr number into the breast pocket of a neutral-toned summer suit when it came my attention that a camo-print pocket square is available by way of Ryan Seacrest Distinction—the TV star’s Macy’s line.

Does the woodsy print have a place in professional attire? The fact that the milquetoast successor to Dick Clark is selling such an item hints that yes, it is completely acceptable to wear one anyplace short of an IBM board meeting.
