Soccer Player Injured in Germany by Explosions Near Team's Bus

A soccer player was injured following three explosions near the bus that he was on with his team heading to a Champions League match in the western German city of Dortmund.

Spaniard Marc Bartra, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, is in the hospital as a result of the injuries he sustained in the blasts, according to his team.

Police said the bus was struck shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday by the explosions as it left the hotel en route to the game against AS Monaco. The match was subsequently canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday.

“There is currently no reason to worry for our stadium visitors,” the team said.
