Jamie Oliver to Close Six U.K. Restaurants Amid Brexit Squeeze

  • Outlets ‘quite unsustainable’ after sourcing costs increased
  • Company to seek alternative positions for 120 staff affected

U.K. celebrity chef and healthy-food campaigner Jamie Oliver plans to close six of his Italian restaurants around Britain after the pound’s Brexit-induced weakness pushed up costs at eateries that already weren’t serving enough people.

Restaurants in Aberdeen, Exeter, Cheltenham, Richmond, Tunbridge Wells and London’s Ludgate Hill will shut in the first quarter, a spokeswoman said by e-mail.
