Hard to fathom only months ago, the lifting of U.S. sanctions against Russia is all but certain for most economists.

The U.S. will start easing its penalties, imposed over the showdown in Ukraine in 2014, during the next 12 months, according to 55 percent of respondents in a Bloomberg surveyBloomberg Terminal, up from 10 percent in an October poll.
