Lyft Says COO Tibbens Not Interested in Trump Cabinet Post

Lyft Inc. dismissed the possibility that Chief Operating Officer Rex Tibbens would leave the ride-hailing company to become Transportation Secretary for President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

Former Fortune reporter Dan Primack earlier wrote in a tweet that Trump’s transition team is considering Tibbens, a former Amazon executive, for the cabinet position.

“Rex Tibbens would be a valuable asset to any organization, but he is not interested in pursuing a role outside of Lyft,” a company representative said in an e-mail.
