No Concerns at the BOE as U.K. Inflation Picks Up Pace: Chart

U.K. inflation is on the up, with economists forecasting data on Tuesday will show the annual rate accelerated to a 21-month high of 0.7 percent in August as a weaker pound drove up import prices. That’s unlikely to worry officials, who announce their policy decision on Thursday. They cut interest rates last month and said action to counter sterling’s impact would only hurt growth and push up unemployment.
