When the fundraising e-mail hit his inbox in February, Terry Crouthamel sent $250 to Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

Or rather, he thought he did. It wasn't until almost two months later that Crouthamel, a 63-year-old asphalt contractor in Allentown, Pennsylvania, learned the truth.
