Sanjeev K. Mehra, vice chairman of the global private equity unit at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., is retiring from the U.S. bank.

Mehra, 57, was one of the founding members of the practice in 1990, and has also served as co-head of the Americas private equity business, according to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg. The contents of the memo were confirmed by a spokeswoman for Goldman Sachs.
