Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said he doesn’t need the support of ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi to overhaul the Italian Senate, despite facing a razor-thin majority that could prove the biggest test for his government to date.

Renzi said in an in New York, where he is attending the General Assembly of the United Nations, that the measure he called "a revolution" would cut the cost of politics and eliminate many of the seats of Italian politicians.
