Brazil’s government may have made mistakes, and must reverse some policies aimed at supporting the economy, President Dilma Rousseff said Monday in an Independence Day address to the nation posted on the Web.

Brazil is coming out of long period when the government spent to maintain employment, income and investment, she said. “Now we must evaluate all those measures and reduce those that need to be reduced,” she added. “If we committed errors, and that is possible, we will overcome them and continue forward,” the president said.
