Kentucky Republican Party committee members voted Saturday to hold a presidential caucus on March 5 provided one of the state’s U.S. senators, Rand Paul, puts up $250,000 to cover half of the cost of the caucus by next month. The arrangement would allow Paul to run for his Senate seat and seek the presidency simultaneously.
