Joseph Trustey, Summit Partners COO, Dies in Air Crash at 53

Joseph F. Trustey, a managing director and chief operating officer of Boston-based private equity firm Summit Partners, has died in a plane crash in Milwaukee. He was 53.
Trustey died along with his 18-year-old daughter Anna on Wednesday when his small aircraft crashed at 6:10 p.m. at Timmerman Airport, according to separate statements from the company and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the accident. Trustey and his daughter were traveling to the Midwest for a college visit. Their deaths come nine months after his son, Andrew, died at age 22.
