Jeb Bush’s Check-My-Record Brag on Growth Doesn’t Add Up

Florida’s economy did grow at a 4.4 percent pace during his years in office, but the policies he adopted did little to spur it, analysts say.

When Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush is asked to show how he can deliver on his campaign promise to double the U.S. economy’s annual growth rate to 4 percent, his answer is simple.

“I’ve done it,” he said in a recent campaign website posting. “Check out my record when I was governor of Florida.”
