GM Gains as Fitch Raises Rating to Investment Grade

General Motors Co. gained the most since May after Fitch Ratings raised the automaker’s credit rating to investment grade, citing its improving business and confidence that the company can weather its ignition-switch recall.
The shares climbed 1.1 percent to $36.20 at the close in New York. They have advanced 3.7 percent this year, outpacing the 3 percent increase for the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index.
