Neverland Ranch, the former home of the late pop star Michael Jackson, is up for sale with an asking price of $100 million, according to a person with knowledge of the offering.

Thomas Barrack Jr. said last July that he was preparing to market the 2,680-acre (1,085-hectare) estate in the Santa Ynez Valley, known for its wineries. The property, about 130 miles (210 kilometers) northwest of Los Angeles, was named after the island in J.M. Barrie’s story of Peter Pan, a boy who never grows up.
