Apple Is Said to Acquire Database Software Maker FoundationDB

Apple Inc. acquired database company FoundationDB LLC, according to a person familiar with the matter, a purchase that will help bolster its cloud-computing efforts.
The Vienna, Virginia-based software maker posted a message on its website saying it was no longer offering downloads. “We have made the decision to evolve our company mission,” FoundationDB said.
