Mozambique’s state-owned development bank, Banco Nacional de Investimentos, has appointed Tomas Matola as chief executive officer to replace Adriano Maleiane, named last month as minister of economy and finance.

Matola was interviewed by independent television channel TIM on Wednesday, which said he had been nominated by IGEPE, the Mozambican government agency in charge of managing state-owned enterprises such as the bank.
