Egypt suspended national soccer league matches indefinitely after at least 19 people died in a stampede at a Cairo stadium, which began as police fired tear gas at fans.
Twenty-five others were injured in the worst Egyptian soccer violence since riots at a Port Said game left more than 70 dead three years ago, according to state media. The Health Ministry put the death toll at 19, while the state-run Ahram Gate website said as many as 30 died.
