Tiger Woods withdrew during the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open with a back injury, once more putting in jeopardy his preparation for the Masters Tournament, the first major golf championship of the year.

Woods, 39, trailed by seven shots at 2 over par when his caddie lifted his ball marker before he putted on his 12th hole today at Torrey Pines Golf Club’s north course.
