Walt Disney Co. reserved $198 million for possible payouts to the former shareholders of Maker Studios, the Web-video producer it acquired last year.

Disney, the world’s largest entertainment company, purchased Maker for $500 million in cash last May. The company agreed to pay as much as $450 million more to the former owners based on the unit’s performance in 2014 and 2015. The possible payout was disclosed this week in a regulatory filing.
