Hong Kong will set up extra air quality checkpoints along the route of Sunday’s marathon organized by Standard Chartered Plc to keep runners informed about pollution levels and associated health risks.
Of the four monitoring points for the marathon and one for the 10km run, two will be stations provided by the city’s environmental protection department, Christine Loh, under secretary for the environment, said in an e-mail. The department will work with universities and non-governmental organizations.
