South Korea’s economy expanded at the slowest pace in more than two years, underscoring the challenge facing the Park administration and the central bank to spur growth.

Gross domestic product grew 0.4 percent in the three months through December from the previous quarter, the Bank of Korea said Friday in Seoul. That matched the median estimate in a Bloomberg News survey and was the weakest gain since the third quarter of 2012. The economy expanded 2.7 percent from a year earlier, compared with expectations for a 2.8 percent gain.
