Malawi Floods Drive 106,000 People From Their Homes, UN Says

Floods in Malawi that have killed 48 people have driven about 106,000 people from their homes, up from a previous estimate of 75,000, the United Nations said.
One thousand people have been rescued, while 19 remain missing, Ignacio Leon-Garcia, head of the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in southern Africa, said in an e-mailed statement today.
