Liam Neeson’s ‘Taken 3’ Tops ‘Selma’ in Weekend Movie Box Office

“Taken 3,” Liam Neeson’s third go-round as action hero Bryan Mills, opened as the top-grossing film in U.S. and Canadian theaters, collecting weekend sales of $40.4 million for 21st Century Fox Inc.

The Martin Luther King Jr. civil rights-era drama “Selma” expanded to wide release after a limited debut on Dec. 25 and brought in weekend sales of $11.2 million for Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures, industry researcher Rentrak Corp. said yesterday in a statement.
