International Business Machines Corp. named Robert LeBlanc as senior vice president of IBM Cloud, a dedicated unit being created to speed up the company’s development of its cloud-computing business, according to a person familiar with the matter.
LeBlanc, who was previously the SVP of the software and cloud solutions group, will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Ginni Rometty, said the person, who asked not to be named because the announcement wasn’t made publicly. IBM said last year that it was creating a “dedicated business unit” for cloud, as it had previously done with the Watson technology.
