Alstom Charged in U.K. With Paying Bribes Over 8 Years

Alstom Power Ltd., a subsidiary of French engineering company Alstom SA, and two employees have been charged with bribing agents over an eight-year period.
Alstom Power, Nicholas Reynolds, 49, and Johanes Villi Venskus, 71, appeared in a London court on Dec. 22 facing two counts each of conspiring to bribe an agent and offering a bribe to an agent between Feb. 14, 2002 and March 31, 2010, according to court papers. They are being prosecuted by the Serious Fraud Office.
