The Swiss National Bank is about to end the century-long male dominance of its governing board.

Andrea Maechler, Deputy Division Chief in the Global Markets Analysis Department at the International Monetary Fund, will join the three-member board on July 1, the Swiss government said today. She replaces Jean-Pierre Danthine, who is set to retire. Fritz Zurbruegg, who’s been on the board since 2012, will take Danthine’s role as SNB vice president.
