U.S. Prosecutors Reject Calls for Charges Over CIA Interrogation

Two top Democrats called for the U.S. Justice Department to consider prosecuting CIA employees responsible for brutal interrogation tactics revealed in a Senate report, though federal prosecutors said today they have no intention of reopening the case.

West Virginia Democratic Senator Jay Rockefeller, a member of the Senate’s intelligence committee that released the report today, said he believes prosecutions should be pursued against those responsible for tactics that critics have called torture.
