NTPC Plans to Set Up Photovoltaic Projects Atop Thermal Plants

NTPC Ltd., India’s largest electricity generator, plans to install solar panels atop its thermal power plants as part of a plan to add 1 gigawatt of renewable capacity in the next three years.
Solar photovoltaic plants will be installed even on new projects under execution, Renewable Energy Minister Piyush Goyal said in a written reply to parliament.
