United Technologies CEO Left Amid Board’s Concern on Focus

Louis Chenevert stepped aside as United Technologies Corp.’s chief executive officer after the lead independent director raised questions about his focus at the company.
The circumstances were described by the director, Edward Kangas, who became chairman when Chenevert’s abrupt departure was announced on Nov. 24. Gregory Hayes moved up from chief financial officer to succeed Chenevert, 57, who led the maker of jet engines and air conditioners for six years.
