Malaysia named Christoph Mueller, outgoing chief executive officer of Aer Lingus Group Plc, to lead a revamp of its flag-carrier airline following two crashes that killed 537 people this year.

Mueller, 52, will take charge of a new company being carved out of publicly traded Malaysian Airline System Bhd., according to a statement yesterday from state sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Bhd., the carrier’s majority investor.
