Oil Drop ‘Not Significantly' Affecting Alberta Regulator

Oil price declines haven’t “significantly” reduced the number of applications for projects filed to the Alberta Energy Regulator, the agency’s chief executive officer said.

“We are still seeing significant applications moving through our system,” Jim Ellis said today in an interview at Bloomberg headquarters in New York. “It takes a while to get through our system so companies are still doing that regulatory process. Whether they put a spade in the ground, that’s going to be their call, that’s going to be driven by the market.”
