Uber Technologies Inc. is investigating a manager in its New York office who used the company’s car-booking tools to track a reporter, a person with knowledge of the matter said, a sign of escalating concern over how the startup treats journalists’ privacy.
Josh Mohrer, general manager for Uber’s New York office, used an internal tracking tool called God View to monitor the movements of a visiting BuzzFeed reporter this month, BuzzFeed reported. Uber is investigating the incident, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private.
