TD’s Pryde Says Canada’s Male-Run Banks Must Champion Women

Bay Street’s male bosses must champion more women for promotion to reduce the dominance of men in the upper management of Canada’s lenders, said Robbie Pryde, Toronto-Dominion Bank’s head of equities.

While women sponsoring women in their careers is important, similar efforts are needed from the men who typically run banks’ capital markets divisions, said Pryde, who received a leadership award today from Women in Capital Markets.
