President Bronislaw Komorowski dismissed calls by Poland’s opposition for a rerun of Nov. 16 local elections after flaws in a new computer system prevented the ballot from being tallied on time.

“The validity of the vote can’t be questioned by promoting the harmful idea that we must repeat it,” Komorowski said today after meeting judges responsible for appointing election commissioners. “This is an abyss of madness.”
