A scientist in Nigeria received a patent on a technology aimed at using urine as an energy source, Nigeria’s Guardian newspaper reported.

The Nigerian patent, which has a term of 20 years, covers the “Conversion of Urine into Hydrogen-Ammonia Rich Flammable Gases and Resistant Materials” and was awarded to Ejikeme Patrick Nwosu, chief executive officer and director of research at Lumos Laboratories & Co., according to the Guardian.
