Scots Nationalists Ready for New Battle as Support Surges

Scotland’s army of nationalists is gathering support and preparing for another battle.

Membership of the Scottish National Party, whose campaign for independence from the U.K. gained the backing of 45 percent of voters in a referendum on Sept. 18, has more than tripled since the ballot. The new recruits joined traditional supporters and the leadership today and tomorrow for their last annual party conference before U.K. elections in May next year.
