Tullow Pullout Prompts Namibia Concern at Gas-Plant Delay

Namibia’s power producer said it’s preparing for delays to a plant intended to more than double the national electricity capacity, after Tullow Oil Plc announced it’s in talks to quit the $2 billion Kudu gas project.

A 1,050-megawatt plant powered by gas from the Kudu fields is due to plug in to the power grid in 2018, a date that’s now in doubt, Namibia Power Corp. Managing Director Paulinus Shilamba said in an interview on Nov. 4.
