Thomas M. Menino, 71, was the Democratic mayor of Boston for 20 years, starting in 1993. He was best known for overseeing the city’s economic resurgence, including the Seaport district which now features luxury condos and the Institute of Contemporary Art. Died Oct. 30 of cancer.
