Alibaba Backer Insight Venture Said to Seek $4 Billion

Insight Venture Partners, a private-equity firm that backed Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and Twitter Inc., plans to seek $4 billion for two technology-focused funds.
The New York-based firm expects to target $3 billion for a growth equity fund and $1 billion for a buyout pool, said two people with knowledge of the plans, who asked not to be named because the information is private. Insight Venture has previously made private-equity investments in global software, internet and data-services businesses through a single fund, said the people.
