Oct. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Companies that build their businessmodels around aggressive patent litigation are finding thatapproach less lucrative after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling andstricter government policies.

Patent lawsuits filed in the third quarter declined 23percent from the second quarter, according to the industrycoalition Unified Patents. About 88 percent of the drop isbecause of fewer cases by companies that make more than halftheir revenue from patent licensing and sue computer,electronics and software companies, the group said yesterday.
