Ex-Google Executive Bedier Unveils Poynt Payment Terminals

Osama Bedier, the former head of Google Wallet, has started a payment company that will compete with VeriFone Systems Inc. and a bevy of payment startups.
Bedier’s Poynt Co. will take pre-orders today for its terminals that accept credit cards and mobile payments in stores. The devices will be distributed through two of the country’s top five banks, Bedier said, declining to name them.
