Hungarians rallied for the second time in three days in Budapest to force the government to scrap a plan to tax Internet data as demonstrations spread around the country, raising pressure on Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Protesters in the capital, numbering in the tens of thousands according to the Origo news website, challenged Orban to a debate and pledged to build a grassroots movement against his administration. Rallies also took place in cities including Debrecen, Pecs and Szeged, which have large university populations, the Index news website reported.
