Burkina Faso Police Clash With Protesters Outside Parliament

Burkina Faso police used teargas to prevent protesters from entering the National Assembly ahead of a vote that would allow President Blaise Compaore to extend his 27-year rule.

Thousands of people marched to the National Assembly, said Zephirin Diabre, an opposition leader who helped organize the event. The police broke the crowd up once they reached the building, Aziz Sawadogo, a protester, said.
