Qatar Electricity Boosting Desalination Capacity, Al-Sharq Says

Qatar Electricity & Water Co. increased planned desalination capacity at its Ras Laffan project to 65 million gallons per day, Al-Sharq reported, citing General Manager Fahad Hamad Al Mohannadi.
The state-run utility will begin in mid-2015 to supply desalinated water to the Ras Laffan industrial city, the newspaper said. The company, which boosted desalination capacity from 35 million gallons per day, will start operating the project in the first half of 2017, according to the report.
