London Housing Hits an ‘Inevitable’ Slowdown, Hometrack Says

London house-price growth slowed last month as a convergence of a stronger pound, Bank of England warnings and stretched affordability began to take their toll, Hometrack Ltd. said.

Values in the U.K. capital rose 0.4 percent in September after a 1 percent gain in August, according to a new index that tracks values in 20 cities. It showed that London led home-price growth over the past year, with an 18.1 percent surge, followed by 17.9 percent in Cambridge and 14.1 percent in Bristol.
