Microsoft’s Nadella Touts Cloud Strategy, Adds Partners

Microsoft Corp. is teaming up with Dell Inc. to sell a package of hardware and software that runs its Azure Web-based services, boosting its cloud offerings as the software maker takes on Amazon.com Inc. and Google Inc.

At an event today in San Francisco, cloud division chief Scott Guthrie said Azure is signing up 10,000 new customers a week. The company is creating an Azure marketplace where users can search for services from Microsoft and partners, including big-data startup Cloudera Inc., he said.
