Obama Administration Toughens Rules on Campus Violence Reporting

The Obama administration strengthened rules for reporting violence at U.S. colleges to give students more information about the prevalence of sexual and domestic assault at their schools.
Under final changes to the Clery Act, released today, colleges must publish data on dating and domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in their annual crime reports. The Clery Act requires colleges to publicly report instances of violent crime including murder, sex offenses and burglary.
