Death Threats Prompt Video-Game Critic to Cancel Speech

Anita Sarkeesian, a feminist blogger critical of how video games portray women, canceled a speech at Utah State University after an e-mail threatened “the deadliest school shooting in American history.”

The e-mail said Sarkeesian, her audience and “feminists on campus who won’t be able to defend themselves” would be in danger, according to a copy provided by the university. “One way or another, I’m going to make sure they die.”
